The Department of Theology

Rooted in Faith, Equipped for Ministry, Transforming Society

An Overview of The Department

Forming Biblically Grounded Spiritual Leaders for Church and Society

The Department of Theology at Wesley College is dedicated to developing biblically grounded, ethically sound, and practical-minded spiritual leaders. Recognizing the vital role faith plays in social development, moral leadership, and community wellbeing across Tanzania and East Africa, the department integrates rigorous biblical exegesis, systematic theology, church history, and practical ministry skills. The curriculum balances intellectual inquiry with personal spiritual formation and practical fieldwork, preparing students to lead Christian congregations, faith-based non-governmental organizations, chaplaincy services, and community development initiatives.
