TRAINING PROGRAMMES OFFERED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

The Department of Business Administration offer training programmes which are Basic Technician Certificate in Business Administration (NTA Level 4), Technician Certificate in Business Administration (NTA Level 5), and Ordinary Diploma in Business Administration (NTA Level 6).
 

1. BASIC TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (NTA LEVEL 4)
 

PURPOSE OF QUALIFICATION:
 

This qualification is intended for a person who will perform routine business administration and sales duties, communicate properly, apply basic computer knowledge in performing business duties, preparing simple reports, recording stores/sales receipts, maintaining records and documents, managing own business and address emerging social economic challenges.
 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

​

  • Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least four (4) passes in non-religious subjects

  • National Vocational Award (NVA) Level 3

​

2. TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (NTA LEVEL 5)

 

PURPOSE OF QUALIFICATION

 

This qualification is intended for a person who will perform routine and non-routine business duties including assisting in procurement, selling and storage functions, preparing reports, processing and recording business related information, handling customers and assist in human resource and public relations.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Holders of Basic Technician Certificate (NTA Level 4) in Business Administration, Marketing, Accountancy, Finance and Banking, Human Resource Management, Local Government Administration

  • Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with at least one Principal pass and one Subsidiary in Principle

3. ORDINARY DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (NTA LEVEL 6)

PURPOSE OF QUALIFICATION

This qualification is intended for a person who will perform non-routine business administration duties including collect and process data for/on business operations, assist in planning and preparing budgets at sectional or departmental level, supervise business operations and prepare periodic reports.

​

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

​

  • Possession of the National Technical Award (NVA) Level 5 in Business Administration or a related field
